The Senior Health Promotion and Improvement Officer plays a key leadership role in advancing population health and wellbeing initiatives across Dublin North. This post focuses on strategic planning, partnership working, and the delivery of evidence-based health promotion programmes aligned with national and regional priorities.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate health promotion and improvement programmes across assigned Integrated Health Areas
• Provide strategic advice on population health, prevention, and wellbeing initiatives
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and statutory agencies
• Support policy development and implementation in line with national health strategies
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on programme outcomes and service effectiveness
• Contribute to workforce development, mentoring, and professional supervision
• Ensure governance, quality, and risk management standards are upheld
Required Skills & Qualifications
• A relevant third-level qualification in health promotion, public health, health sciences, or a related discipline
• Significant professional experience in health promotion and population health settings
• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and strategic planning skills
• Strong communication, partnership-building, and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Knowledge of Irish health policy, community health, and health inequalities
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and meet HSE appointment criteria
