An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Practitioner in Urlingford, West Kilkenny, providing essential primary care services under the General Medical Services (GMS) Scheme. This permanent wholetime role supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred healthcare within a well-established community setting.
The post is held under a GMS Contract for Service and plays a vital role in meeting local population health needs across West Kilkenny.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive general medical services to eligible GMS patients
• Deliver preventative, diagnostic, and ongoing clinical care
• Manage acute and chronic conditions within primary care
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration and referral pathways

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Full registration on the Register of Medical Practitioners (General Division)
• Eligibility to hold a GMS Contract
• Recognised postgraduate training in General Practice
• Strong clinical decision-making and patient communication skills
• Commitment to ethical practice and professional standards
• Experience in community or primary care settings (desirable)
