An exciting secondment opportunity is available for an experienced nursing leader to take up the role of ADON Band 1 National Adult Retrieval Coordinator, based at the Lauren Unit, Cherry Orchard Hospital, Dublin 10. This national role supports the coordination and development of adult retrieval services, contributing directly to patient safety and service quality across Ireland.

This is a specified purpose, part-time secondment offered on a grade-for-grade basis, with existing terms and conditions maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support national adult retrieval services
• Provide professional nursing leadership within the retrieval framework
• Liaise with multidisciplinary and national stakeholders
• Support service development, governance, and quality improvement initiatives
• Contribute to policy implementation and operational planning
• Ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred retrieval practices
• Participate in reporting, audit, and service evaluation activities

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registration as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
• Eligibility to work at Assistant Director of Nursing (Band 1) level
• Significant post-registration clinical and leadership experience
• Experience in acute, critical care, or retrieval-related services is desirable
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively at national level

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• Salary aligned to Assistant Director of Nursing Band 1 (Grade Code 2910), in accordance with national HSE pay scales effective 1 August 2025
• Secondment on a grade-for-grade basis with existing terms and conditions maintained
• Specified purpose, part-time contract
• Public service pension and standard HSE leave entitlements apply
