Galway University Hospital is seeking an experienced Applications Administrator and Analyst (Diabetes) to support and enhance clinical and information systems within diabetes services. This permanent, whole-time Grade VI role combines systems administration, analytics, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery in a complex hospital environment.

The post plays a key role in optimising electronic health records and clinical information systems to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support electronic health record (EHR) and clinical information systems for diabetes services
• Analyse system data and workflows to identify improvement opportunities
• Lead or contribute to large-scale ICT and clinical system implementation projects
• Manage vendor relationships, including system support and upgrades
• Train end users and system superusers, providing ongoing support
• Engage with clinicians, managers, and ICT stakeholders to deliver project outcomes
• Ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR requirements
• Prepare reports and present findings to senior stakeholders

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience with electronic health records and/or clinical information systems
• Experience in people management and vendor management
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated project management and delivery experience
• Experience training end users and/or system superusers
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including presentations
• Knowledge of GDPR and HSE data protection guidelines
• Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Grade: Grade VI (0574) Clerical/Administrative
Salary: In line with approved HSE Grade VI consolidated pay scales (on application)
Contract: Permanent, whole-time
