This fixed-term wholetime post offers valuable clinical experience within the HSE Dublin and North East region, serving communities across Meath and surrounding counties.
This role is ideal for experienced NCHDs seeking to advance their cardiology and general internal medicine training within a dynamic acute hospital environment.
Job Overview
The Registrar in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine will provide high-quality clinical care to patients within the medical service at Our Lady’s Hospital Navan. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support consultants in delivering comprehensive cardiology and general medical services.
This position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver inpatient and outpatient cardiology and general medical care
• Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Contribute to emergency on-call rotas as required
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Supervise and support junior medical staff where appropriate
• Participate in audit, quality improvement and continuing professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• Relevant postgraduate experience in cardiology and/or general internal medicine
• Demonstrated clinical competence in acute medical care
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to professional development and clinical governance
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the HSE Registrar (Grade Code 1538) payscale under the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025), ranging from €68,891 to €81,126 per annum, depending on experience
