The Assistant Director of Nursing Louth position offers a senior leadership opportunity within the Medical Division at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. This permanent wholetime role supports the Director of Nursing in delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care across designated services.
This is a strategic and operational leadership post focused on service development, patient-centred care, and continuous quality improvement within HSE Dublin and North East.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide operational and strategic nursing leadership within the Medical Division
• Support reconfiguration and expansion of medical services
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing practice
• Oversee nursing service adaptation to meet emerging patient needs
• Promote a service user-centred approach in all service developments
• Collaborate with hospital and regional leadership teams
• Ensure governance, compliance, and professional standards are maintained
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register
• Significant senior nursing management experience
• Demonstrated leadership in acute hospital settings
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice and quality improvement
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proven experience in service development and operational management
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: Assistant Director of Nursing (Band 1 Hospitals)
€71,408 – €88,123 per annum (1 August 2025 scale)
