The Health Service Executive (HSE) South West is seeking applications for the position of Staff Nurse (Community) with the Community Intervention Team (CIT) in Kerry. This permanent part-time opportunity offers a rewarding role delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within the community setting.
This Staff Nurse Community Kerry role supports acute and chronic care pathways, enabling patients to receive appropriate interventions in their own homes while reducing hospital admissions and supporting early discharge.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care within the Community Intervention Team model.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care programmes.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with professional guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, GPs and hospital services.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention and quality standards.
- Support patient and family education to encourage self-management and independence.
- Participate in continuous professional development and service improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a General Nurse on the active register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrated clinical competence in community or acute nursing settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Full clean driving licence and access to transport (as required for community-based work).
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary aligned with the HSE Staff Nurse General (Community) pay scale (February 2026 revision), starting from approximately €35,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time hours), subject to experience and incremental credit.
