Job Overview
The Staff Nurse Community Kerry role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Community Intervention Team (CIT) in Kerry under HSE South West. This permanent part-time position supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within the community setting.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide acute-level nursing interventions in patients’ homes, helping to prevent hospital admissions and facilitate early discharge.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to patients in community and home settings.
- Provide acute interventions in collaboration with the Community Intervention Team.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
- Work closely with GPs, hospital teams and allied health professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support health promotion and patient education within the community.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Eligible to work in Ireland.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in acute or community nursing.
- Strong assessment, decision-making and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full clean driving licence (community-based role).
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary aligned with the HSE Staff Nurse General (Community) pay scale (February 2026 revision).
- Annual salary scale for Staff Nurse (General) typically ranges from approximately €37,000 to €54,000 depending on experience and incremental point.
