Cumas New Ross is seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker Wexford to join its Residential Services team in the disability sector. This is a permanent wholetime opportunity supporting individuals to live meaningful, inclusive lives in a high-quality residential setting.
Reporting to the Person in Charge (PIC), the Social Care Worker will provide day-to-day personal care and tailored supports in line with each resident’s assessed needs, choices, and preferences. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred day-to-day care and support to residents within a residential disability service.
- Promote independence, dignity, and social inclusion for all residents.
- Support residents in achieving personal goals in line with individual care plans.
- Assist with personal care, daily living activities, and community integration.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to HIQA standards, safeguarding policies, and all relevant legislation.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or a related discipline.
- Eligibility for CORU registration (or currently registered where applicable).
- Experience working in residential services within the disability sector is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and safeguarding procedures.
- Full clean driving licence (desirable).
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers as required.
