The Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist Cork post in Endometriosis and Chronic Pelvic Pain offers an excellent opportunity to advance your specialist nursing career at Cork University Maternity Hospital. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care for women experiencing endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain, supporting improved clinical outcomes and service development.

Job Overview

This role supports the provision of specialist nursing services in endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain at Cork University Maternity Hospital. The Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist will work under the guidance of senior nursing and medical colleagues while progressing towards full Clinical Nurse Specialist competencies in line with HSE frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients with endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain.
  • Act as a clinical resource and support for nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Participate in the development of evidence-based care pathways and clinical guidelines.
  • Support patient education initiatives and self-management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with HSE and hospital policies.
  • Contribute to audit, quality improvement and service evaluation activities.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and specialist training.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Relevant post-registration clinical experience, ideally in women’s health or gynaecology.
  • Demonstrated interest in endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain management.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
