The Clinical Midwife Manager 2 Limerick opportunity at University Maternity Hospital Limerick offers an exciting leadership role within maternity services in the HSE Mid West region. This permanent wholetime position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, safe, and woman-centred care across clinical midwifery services.
The successful candidate will support service delivery, provide professional leadership, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a busy maternity hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and managerial leadership within the midwifery team.
- Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based maternity care delivery.
- Support staff supervision, performance management, and professional development.
- Promote quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, HIQA standards, and professional regulations.
- Assist in workforce planning and resource management.
- Contribute to service planning and strategic development within maternity services.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a Midwife on the live register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Significant post-registration clinical midwifery experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management, and quality standards.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (Grade Code 2132).
- Salary Scale (from 1 February 2026): €62,078 – €78,443 (LSI) per annum (in line with HSE consolidated pay scales).
