Job Overview
This Senior Physiotherapist Westmeath opportunity offers an exciting leadership role within the in-patient medical and surgical wards at Regional Hospital Mullingar. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy services across acute care settings.
This permanent position provides the opportunity to shape service delivery, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to continuous service improvement within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced physiotherapy assessment and treatment to in-patients across medical, surgical, neurological, gerontology and respiratory wards.
- Lead and coordinate physiotherapy services within assigned acute ward areas.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to complex clinical presentations.
- Supervise, mentor and support junior physiotherapy staff and students.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning processes.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives and clinical audit.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE policies and professional standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and eligibility for CORU registration.
- Significant post-qualification experience in acute hospital settings.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Acute Wards and Respiratory care (medical, surgical, neurology, gerontology, respiratory).
- Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to acute physiotherapy practice.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
