Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Mental Health role is a pivotal leadership position within Galway Roscommon Mayo Mental Health Services. This permanent opportunity offers experienced mental health nurses the chance to lead frontline teams, ensure compliance with Mental Health Legislation, and deliver high-quality, recovery-orientated care across community and rehabilitation services.
As a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Mental Health, you will play a critical role in organisational management within Approved Centres, strengthening clinical governance, safeguarding service users, and supporting staff development in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline clinical leadership within Mental Health Services.
- Ensure compliance with Mental Health Legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Lead service planning, coordination, and resource management within the clinical area.
- Oversee quality assurance and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Manage staffing, workforce planning, and professional development.
- Promote recovery-focused, integrated models of care.
- Facilitate effective communication across multidisciplinary teams.
- Support risk management and safe clinical practice standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a Mental Health Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Significant post-registration experience in mental health services.
- Previous leadership or management experience at senior nursing level.
- Strong knowledge of Mental Health Legislation and Approved Centre governance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability in service planning, quality improvement, and staff supervision.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

- Salary Scale (February 2026 rates): €62,078 – €78,443 (LSI) per annum (Grade 2658 Clinical Nurse Manager 2 – Mental Health).
