Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Galway opportunity at Aras Mhic Dara Community Nursing Unit offers a rewarding leadership role within Older People Services in the HSE West and North West region. This permanent whole-time position is based in Carraroe, Co. Galway and plays a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to older persons in residential services.
The Clinical Nurse Manager II (CNM2) will provide clinical and managerial leadership, support safe and effective service delivery, and deputise for the Director of Nursing/Person in Charge as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and operational management within the Community Nursing Unit
- Ensure delivery of high standards of gerontological nursing care
- Act as Safeguarding Delegated Officer within residential care
- Deputise for the Director of Nursing/Person in Charge when required
- Lead and support nursing staff through supervision, mentoring and performance management
- Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, HSE policies and national guidelines
- Participate in roster management and workforce planning
- Support quality improvement initiatives and risk management processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Significant clinical experience in nursing care of the older person within the last six years
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of professional knowledge across the CNM2 scope of practice in Gerontology / Older People Services
- Irish language comprehension is essential for this role
- Experience in residential care settings
- Ability to fulfil the Safeguarding Delegated Officer role
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility in rostering arrangements
- Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role
