Job Overview
The Principal Physicist (Nuclear Medicine) role at St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network offers a senior leadership opportunity within a highly specialised clinical environment in Dublin South. This permanent wholetime position plays a critical role in the delivery, development, and governance of nuclear medicine physics services within the HSE Dublin and Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nuclear medicine physics services within St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network.
- Provide expert scientific and technical advice on radiation protection, imaging optimisation, and radionuclide therapies.
- Ensure compliance with national legislation, regulatory standards, and best practice guidelines.
- Oversee quality assurance programmes and equipment performance monitoring.
- Support clinical teams in treatment planning, imaging protocols, and dosimetry.
- Contribute to service development, research initiatives, and technological advancements.
- Supervise and mentor physics staff and trainees.
- Participate in strategic planning and multidisciplinary collaboration across the network.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised postgraduate qualification in Medical Physics or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in nuclear medicine physics within a clinical healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and service management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of radiation protection legislation and quality assurance standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland and meet HSE recruitment requirements.
