The Assistant Director of Nursing Dublin role offers an exciting leadership opportunity within HSE Dublin and North East. This permanent wholetime position focuses on dementia quality improvement initiatives, supporting excellence in clinical governance, patient safety, and service development.
Working from the HSE Building, Seatown Road, Swords, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing dementia care standards across services while leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support dementia quality improvement initiatives across designated services.
- Promote best practice standards in dementia care in line with national policies and frameworks.
- Provide professional leadership and clinical governance oversight.
- Support audit, monitoring, and evaluation of service quality and outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based improvements.
- Contribute to strategic planning and service development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and HSE governance requirements.
- Facilitate education, mentoring, and professional development within nursing teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Significant post-registration clinical experience, including leadership experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in dementia care and quality improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Experience in clinical governance, audit, and service development.
- Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role (travel required).
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Director of Nursing 1 – Assistant (Grade Code 2910).
- Salary Scale (February 2026): €72,122 – €89,004 per annum (9-point scale).
