Job Overview
The Medical Laboratory Aide Navan position at Our Lady’s Hospital Navan offers an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive laboratory team within the HSE Dublin and North East region. This permanent wholetime role supports the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services essential to patient care.
As a Medical Laboratory Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of laboratory services, contributing directly to efficient testing processes and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist laboratory staff in the preparation and handling of specimens.
- Support the maintenance of laboratory equipment and work areas.
- Ensure accurate labelling, sorting, and distribution of samples.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, infection prevention, and safety.
- Dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with health and safety policies.
- Assist with stock control and ordering of laboratory supplies.
- Carry out clerical and administrative duties as required.
- Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or laboratory environment is desirable.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Good understanding of infection prevention and control practices.
- Flexibility and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
