St. Raphael’s Centre, Youghal is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant Intellectual Disability to join its Disability Services team in Cork. This permanent wholetime position with HSE South West offers the opportunity to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in achieving greater independence, dignity, and quality of life.
This Care Assistant Intellectual Disability Cork role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and provides a rewarding career within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals with intellectual disabilities in daily living activities.
- Promote independence, dignity, and person-centred care practices.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and community participation.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, healthcare, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate care records in line with HSE policies.
- Support service users in achieving personal and social development goals.
- Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant healthcare qualification (e.g., QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent).
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
