Domestic Supervisor Sligo – Sligo University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead and supervise domestic services within a busy acute hospital environment. Job Overview
The Domestic Supervisor Sligo position plays a vital role in maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and infection prevention standards across Sligo University Hospital. The successful candidate will supervise domestic staff, ensure compliance with healthcare cleaning protocols, and support a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate domestic services staff across designated hospital areas.
- Ensure hygiene standards are maintained in line with HSE policies and infection prevention guidelines.
- Monitor cleaning schedules and maintain accurate records.
- Provide leadership, training, and performance support to team members.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of cleanliness standards.
- Address operational issues promptly to maintain service continuity.
- Collaborate with hospital management to support quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in hygiene standards relevant to the role.
- Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare or similar environment.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to maintain high standards under pressure in a busy hospital setting.
- Commitment to health and safety compliance.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Domestic Supervisor (Grade Code 4103).
- Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime.
- Salary: In line with HSE General Support consolidated pay scales (February 2026 revision).
