Job Overview

The HSE Dublin and North East is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist CAMHS Louth to join Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in County Louth. This permanent wholetime opportunity offers the chance to work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

This role provides a meaningful opportunity to deliver specialist occupational therapy interventions within CAMHS while contributing to service development across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions to children and adolescents within CAMHS.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Support children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
  • Engage with families, carers, schools, and relevant agencies to support holistic care planning.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards and professional guidelines.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement activities.
  • Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students where appropriate.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy recognised by CORU.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with CORU as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Significant post-qualification experience, including experience working in CAMHS or a similar setting.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
  • Strong assessment, intervention, and case management skills.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
  • Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.

  • Salary aligned with the HSE Senior Occupational Therapist (Grade 3301) scale in accordance with February 2026 public sector pay adjustments.

Location & Employer Information

This role is based in County Louth within the HSE Dublin and North East health region, covering North Dublin, Meath, Louth, Cavan, and Monaghan.
