Job Overview
Sligo University Hospital is seeking a highly experienced Physiotherapist Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Triage to join its multidisciplinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead and deliver advanced physiotherapy services while contributing to improved patient pathways and outcomes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in clinical decision-making, assessment, and management of musculoskeletal conditions within a dynamic hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions
- Lead triage services to ensure timely and appropriate patient care pathways
- Work collaboratively with consultants, GPs, and multidisciplinary teams
- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols
- Supervise and support junior physiotherapy staff
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and service development initiatives
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical governance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy with CORU registration
- Significant clinical experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience relevant to triage services
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience in leadership, supervision, or mentoring roles is desirable
