Job Overview
The Grade VII Unscheduled Care Manager Portlaoise role offers an exciting internal leadership opportunity within Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Reporting within HSE Dublin and Midlands, this position plays a pivotal role in improving patient flow, operational performance, and service delivery across unscheduled care pathways.
This is a specified purpose, wholetime post suited to an experienced healthcare manager with a strong background in operational planning, change management, and service improvement within an acute hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage operational planning for unscheduled care services within the acute hospital environment
- Oversee patient pathways and patient flow processes to optimise service delivery
- Implement and manage complex change and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to enhance service integration
- Monitor, analyse and report on operational data to inform service improvements
- Ensure effective governance, compliance, and performance management standards are maintained
- Promote teamwork, accountability and high performance within the service
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Significant experience in operational planning and service delivery within a complex healthcare environment
- Demonstrated experience working with patient pathways and acute hospital patient flow systems
- Proven experience implementing and managing complex change or quality improvement projects
- Strong stakeholder management experience across internal and external healthcare partners
- Experience in data collection, data management and operational analysis
- Significant experience in people management and team leadership
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
