Job Overview
Monzo Bank is seeking an experienced Payments Manager Dublin to help establish and scale its European Payment Operations function. This is a high-impact role supporting Monzo’s expansion across the EU, building scalable payment processes, managing key partnerships, and ensuring seamless customer payment experiences.
Based in Dublin, you will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams while shaping payment infrastructure across European markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day relationships with payments and banking partners
- Act as first point of contact for payment issues and third-party escalations
- Support implementation projects including onboarding, contracting, and programme delivery
- Build scalable back-office processes to support EU payment systems
- Coordinate adherence processes for new payment schemes
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to scale EU payment capabilities
- Drive continuous improvement post-launch through issue prioritisation
- Research new markets, payment solutions, and strategic partnerships
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of end-to-end payment processes and scheme operations
- Experience within fast-moving environments such as fintech, tech, or consultancy
- Hands-on familiarity with European payment systems including SEPA, Bizum, or iDEAL
- Experience working in Ireland or Spain
- Proven ability to build and scale complex operational systems
- Strong analytical and strategic reasoning skills
- Comfort working closely with engineering and technical teams
- Track record managing SLAs, partner performance, and operational KPIs
- Excellent organisational skills with experience managing multiple stakeholders
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary: €61,200 – €77,000 per annum
