PFH Technology Group is seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Field Engineer in Sligo to support and maintain client IT infrastructure across multiple sites. The IT Field Engineer Sligo role involves hands-on troubleshooting, system administration, hardware installations, and proactive support to ensure seamless IT operations for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritise, manage, and respond to helpdesk calls logged on the help desk system, including travel to customer sites
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and escalate hardware faults to third parties where required
- Perform system administration using Active Directory
- Install and configure computer hardware, peripherals, operating systems, and applications
- Set up new shared folders on existing network shares
- Liaise with third-party vendors for software and hardware installations
- Support data transfers and migrations
- Provide guidance on data security, ICT policies, and “how-to” queries
- Document new solutions and update internal systems
- Support managed print devices and vendor coordination including IP configuration
- Access consoles to deploy solutions such as content encryption
- Follow SD processes, procedures, and escalation protocols
- Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial, and other data
- Submit reports and prepare presentations or proposals as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Full clean driver’s licence (essential)
- Experience in an IT hardware environment, particularly Windows 10 and Windows 11 installations
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to support users adapting to new technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite
- Experience producing high-quality documentation and deliverables
- Third Level IT qualification (desirable)
- Microsoft certifications (advantageous)
- Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and project phases
- Knowledge of IT governance and security policies (desirable)
