Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert anaesthetic care across a wide range of surgical and medical procedures
- Lead and support perioperative patient management and safety initiatives
- Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
- Participate in on-call rota and emergency anaesthesia services
- Contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of junior medical staff
- Engage in clinical governance, audit, and continuous quality improvement activities
- Support development of departmental protocols and service delivery improvements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in Anaesthesiology
- Extensive experience in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine
- Strong clinical leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development and medical education
- Experience in audit, research, or quality improvement initiatives (desirable)
