Job Overview
This Staff Nurse role focuses on delivering comprehensive medical nursing care within an acute hospital setting. You will play a key role in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical decision-making, contributing to improved patient outcomes and high standards of care delivery in Connolly Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients in a general medical setting
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care plans
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Monitor patient progress and respond effectively to clinical changes
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and HIQA standards
- Support patient education and promote health and wellbeing
- Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Demonstrated experience as a Staff Nurse in a medical or acute hospital setting
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to manage complex patient needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to delivering patient-centred care
- Recent relevant nursing experience in an acute environment is highly desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
This is a permanent wholetime position offering competitive pay aligned with HSE salary scales for Staff Nurse Grade 2135. Working hours will follow hospital rostering requirements, including shift work.
