Job Overview
The successful candidate will work as a contracted GMS GP providing comprehensive primary medical services to the local population in Banada and surrounding communities. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive general practice and primary care medical services to patients under the GMS Scheme
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Deliver preventative healthcare services, screenings, and health promotion initiatives
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records in line with HSE standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and community care teams
- Participate in ongoing clinical governance, quality improvement, and professional development activities
- Support continuity of care and effective patient referral pathways
- Ensure compliance with Medical Council regulations and relevant HSE policies
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration with the Irish Medical Council in the General Practitioner Division or eligibility for registration
- Relevant experience working within general practice or primary care settings
- Strong clinical decision-making and patient assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of HSE procedures, governance, and healthcare standards is desirable
