Job Overview

The Interim Assistant National Director – Head of SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE) will provide strategic leadership across SAP services within the HSE Technology & Transformation division. The successful candidate will oversee governance, operational performance, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting digital transformation across the healthcare sector.

This role requires significant senior-level SAP expertise, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering impactful organisational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the SAP Centre of Excellence within the HSE Technology & Transformation division
  • Drive strategic SAP initiatives aligned with organisational digital transformation objectives
  • Develop innovative operational and governance solutions to improve services and performance
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, third-party suppliers, and delivery partners nationwide
  • Provide leadership in SAP programme delivery, governance, and optimisation activities
  • Support continuous improvement across SAP-enabled business processes and systems
  • Ensure effective risk management, compliance, and operational oversight
  • Contribute to national healthcare technology transformation strategies and initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Significant senior-level experience working within SAP and complex business environments
  • Strong experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success delivering innovative service and organisational improvements
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large-scale transformation projects
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and governance capabilities
  • Strong strategic planning and operational management experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively across national healthcare and technology functions
