Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced specialist nursing care to patients receiving radiation oncology treatment
  • Act as a clinical expert and resource for patients, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Support assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care pathways
  • Deliver patient education and emotional support throughout treatment journeys
  • Participate in service improvement initiatives, audits, and evidence-based practice development
  • Collaborate closely with oncology consultants, radiation therapists, and allied healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold best practice standards in oncology nursing
  • Contribute to staff education, mentorship, and professional development within the department

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • Relevant clinical experience in oncology or radiation oncology nursing
  • Demonstrated specialist knowledge and clinical competence in cancer care
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Experience in patient advocacy, education, and service development is desirable
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary will be aligned with the HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 3 pay scale and public sector terms and conditions.
