Job Overview
The successful candidate will work within HSE West and North West services, providing specialist dietetic assessment, intervention, and management for patients experiencing eating disorders. The position is based in Sligo and supports healthcare services across the HSE West and North West region, including Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist dietetic assessment and treatment for individuals with eating disorders.
- Deliver evidence-based nutrition and dietetic interventions within agreed clinical pathways.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support patient education, nutritional counselling, and therapeutic care planning.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning and professional decision-making skills.
- Participate in service development and contribute to best practice standards in dietetics.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Dietetics.
- Registration with CORU or eligibility for registration.
- Demonstrated high level of clinical knowledge and evidence-based dietetic practice.
- Experience working with eating disorder services or complex clinical nutrition cases is desirable.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary will be aligned with the HSE Senior Dietitian Grade 3395 pay scale. This is a Specified Purpose Wholetime contract within the HSE public healthcare system.
