Job Overview
The successful candidate will work within the Emergency Department at Connolly Hospital, supporting the delivery of safe, responsive, and evidence-based nursing care. The role requires strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure emergency care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in line with HSE clinical standards.
- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond effectively to changing clinical needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Support infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and acute patient management.
- Promote a compassionate and patient-focused care environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Recent experience working as an Emergency Department Staff Nurse.
- Recent nursing experience within an acute hospital setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy emergency care environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary will be aligned with the HSE Staff Nurse General pay scale and relevant public sector agreements.
