Job Overview

The Social Care Team Leader will work directly with the Centre Management Team to support the day-to-day operation of the residential centre. The role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on care practice, ensuring young people receive high-quality, person-centred support in a safe and nurturing environment.

The successful candidate will promote a positive and inclusive culture while supporting staff development, implementing placement plans, and ensuring compliance with care standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management of the residential care centre
  • Provide leadership and guidance to residential care staff teams
  • Ensure high-quality care and positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory care environment
  • Support the implementation of individual placement plans and care objectives
  • Maintain accurate documentation and care records
  • Assist with staff supervision, mentoring, and development
  • Act as the accountable lead in the absence of the Person in Charge or Deputy Manager
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies
  • Participate in shift work including nights, weekends, and extended shifts where required

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ full-time relevant experience in social care with children or young people
  • Full manual driving licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland without restriction
  • Strong understanding of residential care practices and regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
  • Experience supervising or supporting staff teams is highly desirable
  • Compassionate and person-centred approach to care
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour and 24-hour shifts including nights and weekends
  • QQI Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care or a related discipline
  • CORU registration accepted in place of qualification requirements for Social Care Workers

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary for this Social Care Team Leader position ranges from €44,293 to €45,219 per year, with annual salary increments available.
