Job Overview
The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking applications for the position of Physiotherapist, Clinical Specialist – Pathfinder based at St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny.
This permanent whole-time role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to provide advanced clinical expertise within the Pathfinder service, supporting high-quality patient care across the Carlow/Kilkenny area.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering specialist physiotherapy assessment, intervention, service development, and clinical leadership in line with national and local healthcare objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients within the Pathfinder service.
- Deliver advanced clinical decision-making and evidence-based interventions.
- Support integrated care pathways and multidisciplinary team working.
- Contribute to service planning, development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and support to colleagues and students where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with professional standards and HSE policies.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria for the grade of Physiotherapist, Clinical Specialist, as outlined by the HSE.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Registration with CORU as a Physiotherapist or eligibility for registration.
- Significant post-qualification clinical experience.
- Specialist knowledge and expertise relevant to the Pathfinder service.
- Strong communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous service improvement.
