A Clinical Trial Assistant (CTA) vacancy has arisen at St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network (SLRON) in Dublin South, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research within one of Ireland’s leading oncology services. This Grade IV post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is offered on a Specified Purpose Wholetime basis.
Role Overview
Reporting within the SLRON Research team, the Clinical Trial Assistant will provide essential administrative and coordination support to the delivery of clinical research trials. Working alongside the Research Project Manager and wider multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of active clinical trial programmes across the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support to the clinical trials team throughout the lifecycle of active research studies.
- Coordinating trial documentation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaising with clinical, research, and administrative staff across SLRON sites to facilitate trial activity.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of trial-related paperwork and correspondence.
- Assisting with scheduling, data entry, and logistical coordination as required by the research programme.
- Contributing to the maintenance of quality standards and good clinical practice (GCP) within the research function.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for the HSE Grade IV (Clerical) grade. The following are typically required:
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience at a comparable level.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with proven attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office applications.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a busy healthcare environment.
- Prior experience in a healthcare, research, or clinical trial setting would be a distinct advantage.

Salary & Contract
This post is remunerated in accordance with the HSE Grade IV (Clerical) salary scale: €36,109 – €55,463 per annum (12-point incremental scale), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 February 2026. Long Service Increments (LSIs) are payable beyond the maximum in line with HSE policy. The appointment is Specified Purpose Wholetime.
