Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) to join its Renal Dialysis unit on a permanent, whole-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced renal dialysis nurse to step into a frontline management role at one of Ireland’s major regional acute hospitals, making a direct impact on patient care quality and service delivery in the Midlands.
About the Role
As Clinical Nurse Manager 1 in the Renal Dialysis unit, you will provide clinical leadership and management at ward level, supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. The CNM1 plays a pivotal role in coordinating day-to-day nursing activity, supervising nursing staff, and maintaining the clinical standards required in a specialist renal environment.
Candidates must demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in working within the speciality of Renal Dialysis Nursing, as relevant to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff within the Renal Dialysis unit.
- Coordinate and manage ward-level nursing activity to ensure safe, effective patient care.
- Maintain and promote clinical standards, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols specific to renal dialysis.
- Support the professional development of nursing staff through mentorship, supervision, and performance feedback.
- Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated, patient-centred care delivery.
- Assist in resource management, including rostering, staffing levels, and equipment oversight.
- Contribute to service improvement, audit, and quality initiatives within the unit.
- Uphold and promote the values, policies, and governance standards of HSE Dublin and Midlands.
Requirements
- Registration on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in the relevant division.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of nursing experience within the speciality of Renal Dialysis, as relevant to a CNM1 role.
- Clinical management or supervisory experience at ward or unit level.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.
Salary
€57,780 – €68,046 per annum (HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (General) scale, 8-point scale). No Long Service Increments apply to this grade. Pay is based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
