The Cheshire Foundation in Ireland is recruiting a Maintenance Worker based in Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow. This is a fixed-term, part-time opportunity to play a vital hands-on role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for people with disabilities across the organisation’s residential services.
Role Overview
The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and repair of residential facilities operated by The Cheshire Foundation in Ireland in the Shillelagh area. Working as part of a dedicated support team, the post holder will ensure that buildings, equipment, and grounds are maintained to the highest standard, directly contributing to the wellbeing and safety of the people who call these services home.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, offered on a part-time basis of 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine and reactive maintenance tasks across residential and service premises.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Support compliance with health and safety regulations in all areas of the built environment.
- Liaise with management and external contractors as required.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work carried out.

Candidates should demonstrate relevant experience in a maintenance, facilities, or trade environment. Salary
Competitive pay. As this is a part-time post of 35 hours per week, pay is pro-rata to contracted hours.
Location
This role is based in Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow, within the HSE Dublin and South East health region. Shillelagh is a small rural town in the south of County Wicklow, and this post supports The Cheshire Foundation in Ireland’s residential services in the surrounding community. Candidates should be able to commute to or reside within reasonable distance of this location.
