Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda is hiring a Staff Grade Dietitian to join its clinical nutrition and dietetic team on a permanent, whole-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified dietitian to deliver high-quality patient care within one of the HSE Dublin and North East region’s busiest acute hospital settings.
Role Overview
The Staff Grade Dietitian will function as an efficient and effective member of the dietetic team, with the aim of ensuring optimum delivery of a clinical nutrition and dietetic service to patients. The post-holder will provide appropriate clinical assessment, intervention, and follow-up as part of a multidisciplinary care approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical nutrition and dietetic services to patients across relevant specialties within the hospital.
- Conduct nutritional assessments and develop individual care plans tailored to patient needs.
- Provide evidence-based dietary advice and therapeutic nutrition interventions.
- Ensure timely and appropriate follow-up for all patients under dietetic care.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of dietetic education and health promotion initiatives.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a recognised qualification in Dietetics and be registered with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council) as a Dietitian, or be eligible for such registration. Relevant clinical experience and a commitment to continuing professional development are essential.
Salary
€45,514 – €63,831 per annum (HSE Dietitian scale, 13-point scale, plus Long Service Increment). Pay is based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026. Grade code: 3389.

Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, Co. Louth is a major acute hospital serving the North East region. As the largest hospital in the HSE Dublin and North East region outside of Dublin, it provides a broad range of acute medical, surgical, and specialist services to a large catchment population across Louth, Meath, and surrounding counties. The dietetic team plays an integral role in patient care across multiple clinical departments.
