Sligo University Hospital is recruiting a Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (Shift Leader) to join its midwifery team on a permanent, wholetime basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced midwifery professional to take on a leadership role at one of the West and North West region’s principal acute hospitals.
Role Overview
As Clinical Midwife Manager 2 Shift Leader, you will provide clinical leadership and management across the maternity service on a shift basis. You will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of midwifery care, supporting your team in delivering high-quality, woman-centred services in line with HSE standards and best practice guidelines.

Salary
€62,699 – €79,227 per annum (HSE Clinical Midwife Manager 2 scale, 11-point scale, plus Long Service Increments where applicable), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.

Sligo University Hospital is the designated acute hospital for the HSE West and North West region, serving the populations of Sligo, Leitrim, and parts of the surrounding counties. The hospital provides a broad range of acute services including a busy maternity unit, and operates as a key referral centre for the region.
