About the Role
As a Carer with Irish HomeCare, you will provide community-based support to clients in and around Sligo Town and Grange, County Sligo. This is a field-based, on-the-road role delivering care in clients’ own homes across morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts. Both part-time and full-time positions are available, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking flexible working arrangements.
No previous care experience is required. Irish HomeCare’s in-house training team provides full induction and manual handling training, plus shadowing support to help you build confidence from day one. As you work, you will progress toward an internationally recognised City & Guilds Diploma in Health and Social Care (equivalent to a QQI Level 5 Major Award) through the company’s Earn as You Learn Scheme.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering personal care including washing, dressing, and toileting assistance
- Supporting clients with dementia care needs
- Providing palliative care and end-of-life support
- Offering companionship and social support to clients
- Travelling between client homes across Sligo Town and Grange
Requirements
- Fluent English
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Must be based in or near the Sligo Town / Grange area
- Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and alternate weekends
- Authorisation to work in Ireland
- Comfort with delivering personal care (washing, toileting, and dressing)

Salary
