University Hospital Limerick is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Cardiovascular Disease Integrated Care. This permanent, wholetime nursing role offers an opportunity to contribute specialist clinical expertise to integrated cardiovascular care across hospital and community pathways within HSE Mid West.
Role Overview
The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiovascular Disease Integrated Care will provide specialist nursing expertise to support high-quality, coordinated and person-centred cardiovascular care. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary service, helping to strengthen integrated care pathways and support patients across appropriate hospital and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist nursing assessment, support and care for patients within the cardiovascular disease integrated care pathway.
- Contribute to coordinated care across acute hospital, specialist and community services.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, medical and multidisciplinary colleagues to support continuity of care.
- Provide specialist clinical advice, education and support to patients, families and healthcare professionals.
- Support evidence-based practice, service development and quality improvement within cardiovascular care.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across relevant services and care settings.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must meet the eligibility, professional registration, experience and qualification requirements specified for the Clinical Nurse Specialist (General) grade and this specialist cardiovascular disease integrated care post. Salary
€62,699 – €76,921 per annum (HSE Clinical Nurse Specialist (General) scale, 10-point standard scale, plus an LSI of €79,227 where applicable). This salary information is based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.

This position is based at University Hospital Limerick in County Limerick and forms part of the wider HSE Mid West health service. The role supports integrated cardiovascular care and collaboration across relevant acute and community care pathways, contributing to coordinated specialist services for patients in the region.
