Autism A Chara is recruiting a Facilitator for a permanent part-time position in Dún Laoghaire, South Dublin. This 25-hour-per-week role offers the opportunity to provide person-centred support to people with complex needs while developing valuable skills, knowledge and experience within disability services.
Role Overview
The Facilitator will support individuals to participate in meaningful activities and pursue person-centred goals. The successful candidate will bring a genuine commitment to providing respectful, individualised support and will contribute to programmes and plans designed around each person’s needs, choices and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with complex needs.
- Support the development and delivery of programmes based on individual goals and preferences.
- Contribute to Person Centred Plans and their implementation.
- Understand and carry out the responsibilities associated with the Key Worker and Support Worker role.
- Work effectively on own initiative while contributing to a supportive service environment.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with individuals, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support meaningful participation, independence and inclusion in line with each individual’s needs.
- Drive service vehicles where required and appropriately authorised.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A full QQI Level 5 Health Care Qualification is essential, such as a qualification in health, community care or a related care sector.
- A genuine passion for providing person-centred support.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Awareness of the Key Worker and Support Worker role and the philosophy surrounding support for people with complex needs.
- Knowledge or understanding of programme planning and Person Centred Plans.
- Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
- A full, clean driving licence is desirable, with a requirement to drive service vehicles as part of the role where applicable.
Salary
Competitive pay. Autism A Chara is a Section 39 organisation and is not bound by HSE salary scales. Salary and employment terms are determined by the employing organisation. As this is a part-time position of 25 hours per week, applicable pay arrangements will reflect the contracted hours.
Location
The position is based in Dún Laoghaire, South Dublin, within the HSE Dublin and South East health region. The role involves supporting people within a disability services environment where person-centred planning, meaningful participation and individual choice are central to service delivery.
