TUSLA – Child and Family Agency is seeking a dedicated Emergency Provision Coordinator to join our Southwest team. This Social Care Manager grade position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in children’s lives across Cork and Kerry regions through emergency care coordination.
About the Role
As an Emergency Provision Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing emergency placements for children and young people in need of immediate care and protection. This position requires strong coordination skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable children.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency placement arrangements for children requiring immediate care
- Assess and match children’s needs with appropriate emergency care providers
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation in compliance with child protection policies
- Liaise with social workers, foster carers, and residential care providers
- Monitor and review emergency placements to ensure quality standards
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences
- Provide crisis support and guidance to emergency care providers
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and TUSLA procedures
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Relevant third-level qualification in Social Care, Social Work, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in child protection or social care services
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions quickly
- Valid driving licence and access to transport
- Garda vetting clearance required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in emergency care coordination or placement services
- Knowledge of foster care and residential care standards
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Additional training in child protection or trauma-informed care
- Familiarity with TUSLA systems and procedures
