Patient Safety & Quality Manager – Dublin | HSE

The Health Service Executive (HSE) Dublin and South East is seeking an experienced Grade VIII Patient Safety Incident Management, Quality Improvement and Data Manager to join our dedicated team in Carrickmines, Dublin. This permanent full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on healthcare quality and patient safety across our region.

About the Role

As our Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Manager, you will lead critical initiatives to enhance patient safety standards and drive quality improvements across HSE Dublin and South East operations. You’ll work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality and patient safety programs while utilizing data-driven approaches to achieve measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage patient safety incident management processes and quality improvement initiatives across the healthcare region
  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality and patient safety strategies in collaboration with clinical and administrative teams
  • Analyze complex healthcare data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for quality improvement
  • Facilitate change management projects and performance improvement strategies across distributed healthcare facilities
  • Build and lead high-performing teams focused on delivering quality and safety outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
  • Provide strategic leadership in developing and expanding the Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) function

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Significant operational experience working at senior level in healthcare environment with internal and external stakeholder collaboration
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams in delivering quality, safety, or improvement initiatives within healthcare settings
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading QPS functions or similar healthcare functions
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to collate, understand, and analyze complex healthcare data
  • Extensive experience facilitating change management projects with successful outcomes in complex organizations
  • Significant experience implementing performance improvement strategies specifically in healthcare environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in healthcare management, quality improvement, or related field
  • Professional certifications in patient safety or quality management
  • Experience with healthcare regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Background in clinical governance and risk management
