Cumas New Ross is seeking Ability Project Facilitators to support young people with intellectual disabilities in developing independence, confidence, and meaningful opportunities. This is a rewarding permanent role where you will guide participants in discovering strengths, exploring career paths, and building essential life skills.
About the Role
As an Ability Project Facilitator, you will play a vital role in empowering young people in the New Ross community. Working within a supportive team, you will facilitate personal development programmes, provide advocacy, and connect participants with community and employment opportunities. This is more than a job – it’s about helping individuals realise their potential and take their next steps toward independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate structured programmes to support personal growth, career exploration, and life skills.
- Advocate for participants, ensuring their voices are heard and their goals are prioritised.
- Build strong community links to create opportunities for inclusion and employment.
- Support participants in developing practical, social, and workplace readiness skills.
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and contribute to programme development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and partner organisations.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Relevant qualification in social care, education, community development, or disability services.
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or in a related setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in programme facilitation or youth development.
- Knowledge of community engagement and supported employment approaches.
- Familiarity with advocacy and person-centred planning.
