HSE Dublin and North East is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in Louth. This permanent wholetime position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in specialized mental health care for young people.
About the Role
We are looking for a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner to work within our CAMHS liaison services in Louth. This specialized role involves providing expert mental health assessment and intervention for children and adolescents, working as part of our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for children and adolescents presenting to CAMHS services
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and treatment planning for young people with mental health difficulties
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
- Liaise with external agencies and services to ensure coordinated care pathways for service users
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to care planning processes within CAMHS protocols
- Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to nursing staff and students within the mental health setting
- Travel between service locations as required to deliver care across the Louth catchment area
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Registration with NMBI as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Registered General Nurse with mental health experience
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or enrollment as Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Mental Health
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in mental health nursing, with specific experience in child and adolescent mental health preferred
- Expertise in mental health assessment tools and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents
- Access to own transport for travel requirements across service locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Advanced Nursing Practice (Mental Health) or equivalent
- Experience working within CAMHS services or similar child and adolescent mental health settings
- Training in specific therapeutic modalities relevant to young people (CBT, DBT, family therapy approaches)
- Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures related to mental health service delivery
