Join the Sligo Leitrim Mental Health Services and take a leading role in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), specialising in Eating Disorders. This is a permanent, whole-time post within the HSE West and North West region, offering an opportunity to contribute to vital care for young people in the community.
About the Role
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Candidate (Mental Health), you will develop advanced clinical expertise in CAMHS Eating Disorder services, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver assessment, treatment, and support for children and adolescents experiencing eating disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions for young people with eating disorders.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and dietitians within CAMHS.
- Support the development and implementation of individual care plans.
- Contribute to service improvement and clinical audit initiatives.
- Provide family education and liaison with community services.
- Participate in clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
- Prepare to transition to Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) status upon successful completion of the programme.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered in the Psychiatric Division of the NMBI Register.
- Extensive experience in the care of children and adolescents with mental illness, particularly eating disorders.
- Eligible and committed to undertake the ANP pathway in Mental Health Nursing.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in mental health or related clinical area.
- Previous CAMHS experience.
- Evidence of leadership, innovation, and research engagement.

- Salary (effective 1 August 2025): €70,725–€79,872 per annum (Grade Code 2274, PPC Rate – per HSE Consolidated Pay Scales).
