About the Role
This Advanced Nurse Practitioner Critical Care Sligo position offers an exceptional opportunity to work in an advanced clinical role, providing expert critical care assessment and intervention services. As part of our Critical Care Outreach team, you’ll work autonomously while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead critical care assessments and interventions for patients throughout Sligo University Hospital
- Provide advanced clinical decision-making in emergency and critical care situations
- Mentor and support junior nursing staff in critical care practices
- Collaborate with medical consultants and multidisciplinary teams on complex cases
- Develop and implement evidence-based care protocols for critical care outreach
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities
- Contribute to education and training programs for nursing staff
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Registration with NMBI as a Registered General Nurse
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience with substantial critical care experience
- Evidence of completion or near completion of Advanced Nurse Practitioner program
- Demonstrates competency in advanced clinical assessment and intervention skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Commitment to continuing professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in relevant clinical specialty
- Previous experience in critical care outreach or similar advanced practice role
- Additional certifications in emergency or critical care nursing
- Experience in clinical supervision and mentoring
