About the Role
This senior Assistant Director of Operations position represents a key leadership opportunity within our nursing management structure in Dublin. Reporting at a strategic level, you’ll drive operational excellence across our healthcare services while leading and developing our nursing teams. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nursing operations across multiple service areas, ensuring optimal patient care delivery and regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement strategic operational plans that align with organizational objectives and healthcare best practices
- Provide senior management oversight for Clinical Nurse Manager 2 level staff and coordinate multi-disciplinary healthcare teams
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to NMBI standards and healthcare regulations across all nursing services
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing models to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining high-quality patient outcomes
- Collaborate with senior leadership team on strategic planning, policy development, and service expansion initiatives
- Mentor and develop nursing management staff, fostering professional growth and succession planning within the organization
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 10 years post-registration nursing experience in healthcare settings
- 5 years proven nursing management experience at Clinical Nurse Manager 2 level or equivalent senior position
- 3 years of the management experience must be at senior strategic level within a large healthcare organization
- Successfully completed Level 8 post-registration qualification in relevant healthcare management or clinical specialty
- Demonstrated clinical, managerial, and administrative knowledge essential for senior healthcare operations leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional post-graduate qualifications in healthcare management, business administration, or leadership
- Experience in Section 38 healthcare organizations or similar publicly funded healthcare settings
- Track record of successful quality improvement and change management initiatives
- Knowledge of HSE policies, procedures, and healthcare regulatory requirements
