Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Sligo is seeking a dynamic Assistant Lecturer to join our Department of Marketing, Tourism & Sport. About the Role
The Assistant Lecturer will deliver innovative teaching in Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, and People Management Skills across multiple degree programmes. You’ll play a vital role in programme development, quality assurance, and research excellence while collaborating with regional, national, and international partners to advance ATU’s mission of enriching our community through academic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and innovative teaching in HRM, Organisational Development, and People Management Skills modules
- Develop and implement creative teaching methodologies to enhance student learning outcomes
- Contribute to programme development, curriculum design, and quality assurance processes
- Engage in research and scholarly activities aligned with departmental and university objectives
- Participate in promotional and outreach activities to enhance programme visibility
- Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, professional bodies, and external stakeholders
- Support student academic development through mentoring and guidance activities
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in higher education or equivalent industry experience
- Strong knowledge of HRM principles, organisational development, and people management practices
- Demonstrated ability to use innovative teaching methodologies and educational technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Human Resource Management, Business, or related discipline
- Professional HR qualifications (CIPD or equivalent)
- Experience in academic research and publication
- Industry experience in HR management or consulting
- Knowledge of Irish employment law and HR practices
