HSE West and North West is seeking an experienced Business Manager to join our Medicine Network of Care at Galway University Hospital. About the Role
As Business Manager for the Medicine Network of Care, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of strategic and operational priorities within Galway University Hospital and across the West & North West Regional Health Area. This senior management position combines healthcare expertise with business acumen to enhance medical services delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Lead the development and implementation of strategic priorities for the Medicine Network of Care across the West & North West RHA
- Operational Management: Support day-to-day operational priorities within Galway University Hospital’s medical services
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clinical directors, medical consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care delivery
- Performance Monitoring: Oversee key performance indicators and quality metrics for medical services within the network
- Resource Management: Coordinate resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure efficient service delivery
- Policy Implementation: Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Project Leadership: Manage strategic projects and initiatives to improve medical service outcomes
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Education: Primary degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Experience: Minimum 5 years management experience in healthcare or public sector environment
- Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities
- Knowledge: Understanding of HSE structures, healthcare delivery systems, and public sector governance
- Eligibility: Current employment with HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies (per WRC Agreement 161867)
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management or Business Administration
- Previous experience in Network of Care or clinical management roles
- Knowledge of medical services and acute hospital operations
- Project management certification or demonstrated project leadership experience
